Senior Genomics Scientist, Verge Genomics (San Francisco, CA)
I study the spatiotemporal functional patterning and evolution of brain gene expression, how and why this is disrupted in neurological disorders and neurodegenerative diseases, and how multilevel integration of a wide variety of datasets can drive more effective drug discovery. Previously a research scientist at Oxford University, I did a postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA, a DPhil in Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics at Oxford University and the National Institutes of Health, and graduated from Rice University with a BA in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and a BS in Physics, Chemistry and Chemical Physics. Besides science, I've interests in sailing, education, music and biotech consultancy. I am a member of the Mid-Bay Bridge Rotary Club of Niceville, FL, and a former (board) member of the Rotary Club of Beavercreek, OH.
